Hi there, I’m McKenzie. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to begin that journey. My goal is to help make the process meaningful and supportive for you from the very beginning. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing addiction, depression, anxiety, and challenges related to military life. My approach to therapy is client-centered and collaborative, meaning we work together to tailor each session to your unique experiences, goals, and needs.

In my work, I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress. CBT is a practical, hands-on approach that provides tools to help you feel more in control of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. At the same time, I understand that every person’s journey is different, so I may integrate other therapeutic techniques when appropriate to ensure that the work we do together best supports your personal growth.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages who may be navigating sobriety, life transitions, trauma, or increased anxiety. Whether you are looking to build coping skills, process difficult experiences, or explore personal goals, I strive to create a space where you feel empowered to grow and move forward. Clear, open communication is very important to me, and I work to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and understood. Through active listening and thoughtful reflection, I aim to be an empathetic partner as we work through challenges together.

Interestingly, my path into mental health was not something I initially planned. It was a career I discovered along the way and quickly fell in love with. Helping people reconnect with meaning, stability, and success in their lives has become something I feel deeply passionate about.

As we work together, we will identify goals that matter most to you—whether that involves reducing anxiety, maintaining sobriety, navigating life changes, or strengthening emotional well-being. Those goals may evolve as you gain new insight and confidence, and we can always adapt our approach to ensure the work remains relevant and meaningful for you.
